Hedge Funds Care Cayman ('HFCC') will host its fourth annual gala dinner 'Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit' at The Ritz-Carlton on Saturday, 15 November 2008. HFCC is an alliance of Cayman hedge fund industry professionals devoted to raising funds for the prevention of child abuse and associated treatment initiatives in Cayman.
The black-tie affair will feature a star-studded evening of glitz, glamour and entertainment. Highlights will include a champagne and cocktail reception, dinner and dancing, and a silent and live auction featuring such items as sports dream getaway packages, exquisite jewelry, and sports memorabilia.
Last November, the third benefit dinner raised a net total of U$254,000 for HFCC. These funds have been put to work locally through the following institutions:
- the Nadine Andreas Foster Home (operated by the NCVO);
- the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre;
- the CAYS Foundation;
- the Ministry of Education;
- and the Human Rights Commission.
Grants were awarded according to strict selection criteria that required full disclosure of the purpose and structure of the intended projects, and upon assurance that the organisations were solvent.
