Eleven Ogier employees swapped a hard day's work in the office for a hard day's work in the country to help with the final preparation of La Hougue Bie's grounds before it reopened in March.
The first of the Group’s ‘Green Committee’ initiatives saw volunteers participating in activities including bramble clearance, planting willows, stacking logs and general tidying of the site grounds.
Ogier Chairman, Jonathan White, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in such a worthwhile project in support of Jersey Heritage who do so much to preserve our local sites of interest.”
The Head of Business Development at Jersey Heritage, Paula Thelwell, said they were delighted that Ogier employees were willing to give up the extra day this year to work at La Hougue Bie.
“We value the support of our corporate members, especially when they volunteer their services to assist our site teams. La Hougue Bie is one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe and older than the Pyramids. Ogier’s contribution to the site is a sound investment in Island heritage.”
