The Animal Welfare team's mission is to advocate responsible domestic pet ownership, to support spay / neuter programmes and raise awareness on the importance of them, and to be pro-active in its approach - through community dog-washes, pamphlet distribution and providing funding for surgeries, treatments and facilities for animals. The committee is now working with Northward Prison, in a broader initiative that will involve the inmates at the prison building dog houses for distribution within the community.
