Over £15,000 has been raised by employees and partners at Ogier in Guernsey for the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief.

Each year, every Ogier employee has the opportunity to nominate a charity for the law firm to support and the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief was the favourite choice for 2007/8.

A programme of fund raising activities was organised by the firm's Charity Action Group with additional funds being raised through extra charity events such as the annual Summer ball, dress down days, Christmas raffles, sales of home-grown produce, individual sponsorships, cake sales and bonus ball competitions.

Everyone at Ogier supports the Charity Action Group in some way. All the funds raised by employees for the nominated charity over the year were then matched by the partners to make the final amount of £15,509.96.

The Chairman of the Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief, Keith Bichard, was presented with the cheque by partner, Simon Davies, and members of the Ogier Charity Action Group who co-ordinate the fundraising efforts each year.

For 2008/9, Ogier Guernsey employees have chosen the Guernsey Alzheimer's Association as their nominated charity.
