The Jersey Triathlon Club was established circa 1985. Ogier have proudly sponsored the Novice Event and Olympic distance Main Event for seven years.
Triathlon consists of the three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running and is often misconceived as an elitist sport - something that the Ogier Jersey Triathlon Novice Event is trying to dispel.
"The Novice triathlon is a great event," says Simon Dowling, President of the Jersey Triathlon Club. "It gives first timers the opportunity to take part in a less competitive environment."
"While we are very fortunate in Jersey to have top class triathletes who are dedicated to their sport and able to compete and hold their own on a European level, there is also a throng of mixed ability athletes, boys and girls, young and not so young, who enjoy the multi sport discipline of keeping fit and occasionally competing."
