The Ogier Tennis Academy at Les Ormes in Jersey has been running since 2000. The objectives of the Academy are to:
- provide a safe and friendly environment in which children can gain experience of tennis and benefit from being instructed by highly qualified LTA coaches
- establish a clear and available path for players to progress at their own pace, at short, transition and the actual game of tennis
- provide exit routes and other opportunities to enable the pupils to fully realise their potential e.g. Les Ormes Junior Coaching programme
By the end of the programme, the children will have:
- experienced the game of tennis in a safe and fun environment
- learned about the basic techniques of the game
- learned about basic tactics, court positioning, scoring and rules of the game
- enjoyed games based on sessions, assessments and competition
