Living and Working in Jersey

The small nine by five mile Channel Island of Jersey is the most southerly island of the British Isles.

It has a population of around 87,000 and is known not only for its outstanding natural beauty, but also its renowned offshore financial industry. Self-governed by the States of Jersey, it has an inherent and highly regarded health service, which works closely with centres of excellence in the UK.

With opportunities starting at nursery and continuing through to retirement, Jersey has a strong commitment in its education programme, encouraging constant learning and potential. Numerous states funded and private schools provide this ethic which is reflected in league tables comparative to the UK.

Jersey has good connections to France and the UK, with regular daily flights and ferry services offering a wide number of routes.

Encompassing varied coastline, from the rugged north to the wind swept south, surrounded by one of the highest tidal flows in the world, Jersey is a hub for sea life and has recently been nominated as a world heritage site.

You are never more than fifteen minutes from the coast and varying landscape and this provides the perfect environment for a range of leisure pursuits. From surfing to golf, and petanqué to rugby, Jersey is a regular competitor on the European stage and prides itself in its community spirited enthusiasm.

Together with Jersey’s buoyant industries, healthy lifestyles and high standards of living, it is a unique and remarkable place to live.
