Ogier acts in $1.6bn. oil sector acquisition

Ogier has represented Addax Petroleum Corporation in the CDN$1.6bn. purchase by Addax, through a Jersey scheme of arrangement, of two subsidiaries of Pan-Ocean Energy Corporation Limited.

Ogier acted alongside Fasken Martineau and Paul Hastings, of Janofsky & Walker (Europe) LLP, in advising Addax on the deal.

The subsidiaries are: PanAfrican Energy Corporation (Mauritius) Limited, which owns and operates Pan-Ocean Energy's oil exploration, production and marketing business in Gabon, West Africa, and Pan-Ocean Energy UK Ltd. which provides management and operational services to Pan-Ocean Energy.

Ogier partner Clive Chaplin led for the firm, with Advocate Sara Johns as the main advisor, assisted by Matthew Gilley.
