For the second year in succession Ogier has been named “Offshore Law Firm of the Year” at the British Legal Awards. This award is one of the most coveted amongst offshore law firms and is recognition of the prominence the firm plays in the offshore world. The event, hosted by Legal Week, is a highlight in the legal calendar and was attended by over 800 industry professionals.
A number of factors were taken into consideration in selecting Ogier as the top offshore law firm again. These include: legal expertise and innovation, strategic vision, new business, client care, employee development and a commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Partners Matthew Thompson and Matthew Swan collected the award at the gala event at Old Billingsgate Market in London on 3rd December 2009 (pictured below).
Chief Executive Officer, Nick Kershaw, said “Our client-focused strategy continues to earn us recognition. We constantly strive to deliver excellent levels of service and have provided a number of innovative solutions for clients in what has been a busy and challenging year. We are immensely proud to end 2009 claiming such a prestigious offshore award.”
Ogier has also won awards recently from professional bodies such as the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and from publications such as International Custody & Fund Administration, Alpha Magazine, HFMweek, Citywealth, ACQ Global, IFLR, and Hedge Funds Journal.
Ogier’s global reach extends to nine offices that cover all time zones and key financial markets. Ogier is also the only offshore law firm with an established and significant presence in the key offshore jurisdictions of Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman and BVI.
