Ogier is delighted to announce that it has signed a pre-let agreement with the JCN Group of Companies on their new flagship offices in Jersey.
The new offices, which will be at 44 Esplanade, will be the largest single occupancy commercial building in Jersey, comprising over 98,000 ft sq. over 6 floors, and will be large enough to accommodate 600 staff under one roof.
Nick Kershaw, Managing Partner of Ogier’s legal practice in Jersey stated: “We are absolutely delighted to have reached agreement with JCN on our new offices. We have collaborated very closely with JCN and the architects, to design and build a truly remarkable building. 44 Esplanade will be a landmark development for Ogier. Having all of our 425 Jersey based staff under one roof again will be a tremendous benefit as we continue to grow and support our clients’ evolving needs”.
The new offices have been designed taking into account the very latest environmental best practice. Simon Neal, Managing Director of JCN adding: “All parties have worked really hard to create something pretty special. We are very excited at the prospect of developing a world class building here in Jersey - one that is based on the very latest architectural, technical and design standards and one that befits one of Jersey’s leading professional services organisations”
It is envisaged that 44 Esplanade will take three years to build. Demolition of the existing buildings on the site has already started and Ogier anticipate taking occupation at the end of 2010.
Ogier has had another very impressive year as they concluded their merger with WSmiths in February and have been recognised as being the top offshore law firm 7 times in the past 12 months including ‘Offshore Law Firm of the Year’ at The Lawyer Awards in 2007 and ‘Jersey Law Firm of the Year’ at the Who’s Who Legal Awards 2007.
