As part of Ogier’s on-going community commitment, the firm has pledged US$25,000 to become a Bronze Heart Sponsor of Hedge Funds Care.  Hedge Funds Care is a non-profit organisation comprised of hedge funds industry professionals devoted to raising funds to protect children from abuse and neglect and to treat those who have been abused. 

Hedge Funds Care has chapters in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cayman, Denver, London, New York, San Francisco and Toronto where annual fund-raising benefit dinners are held.  All of the monies raised in each city are spent locally, in support of community charities.

Peter Cockhill, partner of Ogier and incoming Chair of the Committee of Hearts, commented: “we are pleased to be able to offer financial and administrative support to Hedge Funds Care and the Cayman Chapter Committee of Hearts.  The work of Hedge Funds Care is extremely important in continuing to protect our children and raise awareness of child abuse.  Thanks to Hedge Funds Care it has been possible for us to raise approximately US$400,000 over the past two years for Cayman based initiatives.  The generous support from within the Cayman hedge funds industry has been overwhelming.”

In addition, Denise Gower, business development and marketing manager at Ogier Cayman who has taken on the role Secretary to the Cayman Committee of Hearts, said “the progress made by the grant recipients from the 2005 benefit dinner has been significant and we are starting to see the positive impacts that these projects have been had in the Cayman community.  We are looking forward to seeing these projects develop over time”.
