Ogier Cayman announced today it has received three more awards recognising various aspects of the firm’s expertise across practices and geographies.

The awards include: the Destaques 2011 ‘Offshore Legal Excellence Award’ for Ogier’s work on behalf of Brazilian clients or international clients investing in Brazil,  Finance Monthly 2011 Law Awards ‘Insolvency Firm of the Year’ and Lawyers World 2011 Law Awards ‘Private Funds Law Firm of the Year’.  “Ogier Cayman takes great pride in these third-party endorsements of the quality and expertise of our services and I congratulate all of our teams on these accomplishments,” said Ogier Cayman Managing Partner Peter Cockhill.  “These awards demonstrate the breadth and quality of our practice across several service lines and regions.” The various selection criteria for the three awards were diverse. 

The Destaques 2011 award was given during the closing dinner of the 2011 Brasil Investment Summit held on May 4 in São Paulo Brazil.  The Brasil Investment Summit is quickly establishing itself as the largest international investment conference in Brazil and this year attracted over 520 Brazilian and international investors, fund managers, and key stakeholders including professional services firms focused on the Brazilian investment community.

All three awards place significant weight on input from clients around the world as part of their selection processes, with award organisers collecting votes on nominees in addition to the comprehensive reviews of award finalists carried out by judging committees.

These newest accolades follow two other awards Ogier received in March 2011:  the International Law Office (ILO) ‘Client Choice Award’ and the Hedgeweek Award for ‘Best Offshore Law Firm.’
