Ogier’s Cayman office has been recognised for its growth and prominent market presence in the highly regarded Legal 500 Directory, published in early November 2010.

For the commercial disputes category, Ogier Cayman has improved its standing.  The report highlighted client feedback that Ogier “does not back down from taking a robust stance if the advice requires it.” Partner Christopher Russell was recognised as “greatly respected” and “the lawyer you want on your side if you are litigating in Cayman.” Additionally, senior associate Shaun Folpp was called “excellent on paper and in court.”

Ogier Cayman was also recognised for its corporate and commercial practice, citing its “deep technical knowledge of funds and their structures,” and noting that Ogier “explains technical issues extremely clearly.” Cayman based partners Peter Cockhill and James Bergstrom were named for their role as co-heads of the firm’s global investment funds practice, partner Giorgio Subiotto for his role as head of the Latin America practice, and partner James Bagnall was cited as another “key figure” in Cayman. Ogier Cayman recently welcomed two new group partners to the practice, Angus Davison and Andrew Morehouse.

“Ogier Cayman continues to provide first-class legal services to clients across the globe,” said Peter Cockhill, Managing Partner of Ogier. “We’re delighted that our expanding services have been recognised by Legal 500, and we’re particularly pleased to hear the positive feedback from our clients.”
