Ogier is delighted to announce the appointment of
Marina Kozlova as a member of its global Russia and CIS Practice.
Kozlova joins Ogier from Harney Westwood & Riegels’ British Virgin Islands office where she focused on the Russian and CIS markets.
As the only native Russian lawyer admitted in the British Virgin Islands, Kozlova is a key hire for Ogier.
Nick Ward, who heads Ogier’s global Russia and CIS Practice, commented:
"Ogier’s Russia and CIS cross jurisdictional team is further augmented by Marina's appointment. Her recruitment adds further strength and depth to the already well established and growing team. Ogier are now the only offshore firm with Russian speakers admitted in the BVI and Jersey, which are key jurisdictions for our Russian / CIS clients.”
Kozlova will initially be based in Ogier's Jersey office and will practice British Virgin Islands law. She will work closely with Ray Wearmouth who she follows to Ogier from Harneys. Wearmouth heads the Corporate and Finance practices in Ogier’s BVI office and joined Ogier earlier in the year from Harneys where he had led the same practices.
Wearmouth added:
“The Russian and CIS markets are a key focus for Ogier. Having a strong BVI offering in the region to compliment our other jurisdictions, across our key practice areas, is very important. We were looking for a high calibre Russian lawyer to join our team and I am delighted that Marina has decided to join us given her offshore experience and unique position in the market."
