Ogier scoops another funds award 

Ogier's Investment Funds cross-jurisdictional team has brought home yet another coveted hedge fund industry award, marking its leadership in the offshore investment funds arena.

Ogier was awarded "Offshore Law Firm 2008" by a panel of judges for The Hedge Fund Journal, who looked at a number of criteria during the decision-making process and spoke to various law firms and their clients to determine the winner. We have been advised that we won this particular award due to the strength of our teams across BVI, Cayman, Guernsey and Jersey; the size and significance of the deals that we have advised on and by the feedback HFJ received from our clients.

Guernsey partner, Roger Le Tissier accepted the award at the Natural History Museum in London on 6 March 2008. In addition to the praise for Ogier's teams across BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey and London, Ogier was also credited with having acted on two significant deals in the past year: acting as Guernsey legal adviser on the CHF 2.196 billion (approximately US $2 billion) listing of Gottex Fund Management Holdings Limited on the Zurich Stock Exchange, which was the largest listing on the Exchange in 2007; and acting in an oversubscribed 'C' Share issue for Dexion Absolute Limited which is the world's largest listed fund of hedge funds and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Of those two transactions led by Roger Le Tissier, Ogier had also been nominated for "Transaction of the Year" for the Gottex listing.

The Investment Funds team has won American-based Alpha magazine’s "Top Offshore Law Firm" two years running. Receiving similar recognition from a panel based in Europe is a tribute to our strength across continents and our unparalleled expertise.
