Ogier partners Steve Meiklejohn and Philip Le Cornu have been named by Private Client Practitioner as part of their Top 50 Most Influential people list which was published on Monday 28 November 2011. The 50 Most Influential began with an open call for nominations for those private client practitioners from the UK and UK offshore who have had a real impact on their profession.
Steve Meiklejohn heads up the trusts advisory team at Ogier. Steve is heavily involved in advising all of the firm’s major trust company clients on trust and commercial issues as well as on regulatory matters. Steve has expertise in advising on the establishment and administration of complex structures for high net worth clients looking to create comprehensive estate plans for their personal and business assets. Steve is currently chairman of the Guernsey branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and sits on the Trust Law Working Party.
Philip Le Cornu is currently a group director within Ogier Fiduciary Services with global responsibility for the private wealth businesses which comprises of the private client, probate, family office and investments teams. Philip was a barrister at St. Philip's Chambers from 1992 before joining Ogier in 2000 and becoming a partner in 2007. Philip attended Victoria College in Jersey before graduating from Birmingham University. Philip was called to the English Bar in 1992 and is a member of the Jersey Law Society, the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple of England and STEP.
