Ogier is Chambers Offshore Law Firm of the Year

Ogier was named “Offshore Law Firm of the Year” at the Chambers Global Awards 2006 on the 16 November.

Held at the London Hilton on Park Lane, the awards evening has become one of the most prestigious events in the legal calendar and attracts the cream of the legal profession from around the world.

President of the International Bar Association, Francis Neate, presented the award which was collected by chairman of the Ogier Group, Jonathan White.

Nominations for the awards were shortlisted from the research undertaken for the Chambers Guides, in which Ogier featured prominently.

The winners were decided by a judging panel made up of John Benson, joint head of legal at Commerzbank; John Collins, executive vice president of the ABN Amro Group; Carol Moir, managing director and international head of legal at UBS Investment Bank; Giles Pemberton, general counsel and company secretary of easyJet as well as the editors of the Chambers Guides.

Mr White said: ‘The Chambers Global Awards are held in high regard in the legal world so to win Offshore Law Firm of the Year is a huge honour. It reflects what has been 12 months of significant growth for Ogier, both in terms of our jurisdictional reach and the level of work undertaken.’
