Ogier lawyers take the lead in the ratings

Ogier has the highest number of ranked partners in Jersey according to the recently published editions of Chambers UK and Legal 500 guides.

Of the 19 Ogier partners in the island 13 have been ranked by Chambers with five of those achieving a top tier rating.

Ogier is also positioned at the top in two of the three categories highlighted by Chambers for Jersey.

In the field of dispute resolution, Ogier has been awarded a top tier Chambers ranking with Matthew Thompson and Timothy Le Cocq both individually achieving a top tier rating.

The Chambers listing also positions Ogier at the top of the table for corporate and commercial work with eight ranked lawyers and the firm’s head of structured finance, Chris Byrne, also achieving a top tier rating.

In the practice area of investment funds Ogier’s Richard Thomas and Nick Kershaw are both listed as leading investment funds lawyers with top tier ratings.

Such accolades come hot on the trail of the Legal 500 ratings where, of all the law firms in Jersey, Ogier features the most prominently in the top tier and has the most ranked number of individual lawyers.

Legal 500 divides practice areas into eight categories for Jersey. Ogier is ranked in the top tier for six of those with five of its lawyers rated as “leading individuals”.
