Ogier Sponsors Orchestra Europa Oxford Series

Ogier is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Orchestra Europa Oxford Series.

This January Oxford will play host to Europe’s newest and most innovative professional music ensemble. Orchestra Europa, Europe’s Orchestral Academy, is modelled on America’s hugely successful New World Symphony, directed by Michael Tilson Thomas, and looks set to revolutionise the classical music industry as we know it. Europa will give the continent’s finest graduate musicians the experience and opportunities necessary to launch careers as international performers. Furthermore, it will ensure that that the vibrant musical culture we currently enjoy continues for many years to come by providing Europe’s orchestras, many of which are among the finest in the world, with a crop of highly-talented and able musicians.

Europa officially launches its international concert season in November 2008, which will see it perform in some of the finest concert halls in the UK and Europe and alongside some of the world’s greatest artists, but will be giving two introductory concerts in Oxford to introduce its revolutionary concept to the musical world in advance of this. The first concert will take place at the Oxford Playhouse on Friday 18 January at 8pm performing alongside world-renowned counter-tenor James Bowman and directed by talented young conductor Scott Ellaway.

The programme will include music by Mozart, Haydn and Schubert and is supported by Barclays Bank, Habitat, Ogier, Oxfordshire Life and Arts & Business.
