James is managing partner of the Cayman legal practice and head of Ogier’s global Investment Funds Team. He joined Ogier in 1991 and became a partner in 1998.
He received his Bachelor of Law, with Honours, from the University of London in 1990.
James is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society (council member since 1998), the Caymanian Bar Association (council member since 2002 and President since 2008), the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple of England and Wales and is a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands. James is also a council member of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange. James is a Director of the Cayman Islands Financial Services Association (CIFSA) and is a member of it International Relations committee.
James is recognised by industry commentators as a leading specialist in his areas of expertise for the Cayman Islands. James also features in the 2010 Edition of the "Who's Who Legal" for private funds lawyers.
