Jonathan Hughes is a Partner in the Jersey practice and co-head of the Property Law Group. He is a Jersey Advocate and before joining Ogier in 2007 qualified as an English Solicitor and an Australian Solicitor having worked for a number of years in both London and Sydney at a top tier international law firm. Jonathan specialises in commercial property, hotels, resorts and leisure and indirect tax (GST). He holds an LLB (Hons) degree in law and an LLM masters degree in International Commercial Law.
Commercial Real EstateHis commercial property practice covers property rich M&A transactions, development projects, urban regeneration, corporate relocations and sales, acquisitions and commercial leasing (hotel, office, retail and industrial). Jonathan has extensive experience in this sector and often acts for international and global corporate occupiers and investors in the finance and retail sectors.
Hotels and ResortsBased on his experience in international hotel and resort transactions Jonathan is part of Ogier's Hotels and Resorts Team which advises the global hotel investment industry on establishing and administering structured holding vehicles for hotel and resort cross regional investment.
Indirect Tax Jonathan is a specialist in indirect tax. In particular, its application to corporate and real estate transactions in Jersey.
