Marcus specialises in investment funds, structured finance, banking, corporate and commercial work, private wealth and trusts. He is a qualified barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, a solicitor admitted in England and Wales, a solicitor admitted in the BVI and an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey.
Having practised with the Auckland office of Arthur Andersen for two years and then with the Auckland office of Russell McVeagh for seven years, he joined the Guernsey office in 1999 and became a partner in 2005. He re-located to our Hong Kong office in 2010.
Marcus was named in the 2009 and 2010 Edition of The Legal 500 as a leading individual for commercial and banking work in Guernsey. He has also earned recognition for his trust practice in Citywealth Magazine's "Leaders List" 2009, 2010 and 2011, and for his investment funds practice and private client practice by PLCWhich Lawyer?.
Marcus is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is also part of The Joint Committee on Trust Law Reform, a body representing STEP, Hong Kong Trustees' Association and other industry groups working with and advising the Hong Kong government on the reform of Hong Kong trust law.
