William Simpson is head of the firm's Guernsey office. He specialises in investment funds, structured finance, banking, corporate and commercial work, and trusts. Having qualified as an English Barrister he practised in the UK including a spell at Leeds University as a tutor in the law of trusts, followed by a period in the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands before moving to Guernsey in 1991. He became a Guernsey Advocate in 1996 and joined Ogier to head up the Guernsey office in 2002.
William is recognised by industry commentators as a leading specialist in his areas of expertise for Guernsey and featured in the 2006 Edition of “Who’s Who Legal” for private funds.
William also featured in the 2007 Legal Business guide for top offshore lawyers in the "Ten of the Best: Corporate, Finance and Funds" section.
