Exchange Traded Products

Exchange Traded Products (ETP) mainly consist of:

  • Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) - an investment fund which would normally hold securities and attempt to track the performance of a stock market index or a basket of indices and is tradable like equities on a designated exchange.

  • Exchange Traded Notes (ETN) - normally a bank sponsored bankruptcy-remote vehicle owned by a foundation or a charitable trust will issue an unsecured, unsubordinated debt security that has a return based upon the performance of a market index less relevant fees. No interest is generated or distributed from the debt security and no principal protection exists. ETNs are traded on major exchanges during normal trading hours. Investors can hold the debt security until maturity when they will receive a cash amount.

  • Exchange Traded Commodities (ETC) - a bankruptcy-remote investment vehicle owned by a foundation or a charitable trust will issue listed securities which are fully collateralised by the ownership of physical commodities or the ownership of commodity futures. The ETC would track the performance of an underlying commodity index for a single commodity type.
