After the Cayman Islands, the BVI is the second most popular jurisdiction of domicile for the establishment of institutional and hedge funds. There are currently approximately 2,900 open-ended funds registered or recognised with the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Authority and many more unregulated close-ended funds. Ogier is widely recognised by industry awards and ranked by legal directories as a true leading practice.
Funds may be established for all categories of investor but the BVI is particularly well suited for private placement funds intended for institutional or sophisticated high net worth investors.
