Matthew is a specialist private client lawyer in Ogier's Private Client and Trusts team in Jersey. At Ogier he advises corporate trustees, intermediary organisations and individuals in respect of trusts, employee reward and international pension schemes, wills, estates and succession planning. In particular, Matthew has expertise in advising trustees in respect of large, international pension schemes and associated issues under Jersey law.
Matthew's work in the offshore private client sector has been greatly supported by his firm background as a private client practitioner in the UK where he assisted both individual and corporate clients in all areas of private client law. Prior to joining Ogier in 2016, Matthew spent over two years practising as a solicitor at a top 50 corporate law firm based in Bristol, England. Here he assisted clients with preparing wills, establishing and managing trusts, succession planning and charity law advice.
Matthew received a BSc degree from University College London in Psychology and studied at the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice to obtain his Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course qualifications. Matthew is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and is both a registered member of the Law Society and affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
