Ogier's BVI Office – Major Mandates and Three IPO's

Ogier's BVI office is reporting strong summer work flows across the board, from the debt markets through to M&A and the equity capital markets.

Having closed 3 IPOs in the last six weeks, the firm is working on several other major mandates.

BVI Practice Partner, Ray Wearmouth, noted that "there continue to be some excellent mandates in the market". Wearmouth's team is currently advising on five separate billion-dollar plus transactions with a combined value of in excess of US$ 10 billion dollars. He added, "despite the political back-drop globally, it does feel like cross border deal flow is carrying on regardless."

Capital markets work has also been busy. "In additional to those matters, the US capital markets in particular seem to have strong demand on the equity side, especially for SPACs", Wearmouth said. Ogier partner Michael Killourhy recently closed 3 IPO's on NASDAQ. The listings of National Energy Services, Constellation Alpha Capital and Bison Capital Acquisition raised over US$400 million in recent weeks.
