Ogier's senior Hong Kong-based private client and trusts lawyer has been admitted as a BVI lawyer as the firm continues to build its BVI capacity in Asia and Europe.
Wisdom Hon is now admitted as a lawyer in Hong Kong, England & Wales and BVI, and is a STEP member who holds the STEP Advanced Certificate in Cross-Border Estates.
Her practice involves advising international HNW families on all private wealth matters, with particular focus on trusts, foundations, family governance, wills, probate, estate administration and mental capacity.
Having grown up in Hong Kong and as a fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin speaker, Wisdom plays a key role in working with clients in Hong Kong, mainland China and across Asia. Wisdom provides an invaluable link between clients based in Asia and Ogier's wider international private client and trusts teams based in BVI, Cayman, Guernsey and Jersey.
Advocate Marcus Leese, a BVI and Guernsey-admitted lawyer who has responsibility for Ogier's private wealth practice in Hong Kong and who spent four years based in the firm's Hong Kong office, said: "Wisdom has many years' experience in working on BVI law trust and private wealth issues and her admission as a BVI lawyer recognises this.
"We continue to see very significant levels of interest in BVI structures as part of private wealth planning for our Asian clients, and Wisdom's admission in the jurisdiction comes at an opportune time.
"We have been strategically developing our BVI law capacity in both Asia and Europe across all our service lines, including our trust and private wealth practice. We are very pleased to announce that Wisdom has now been admitted as a lawyer in the BVI as another important part of that development."
