Ogier has been nominated in the Offshore Law Firm of the Year category in the IFLR Asia Awards 2017.
The shortlist for the award ceremony – which will take place on 2 March at the Island Shangri-Law in Hong Kong – has confirmed Ogier as one of seven firms up for the Offshore Law Firm category, and has also included two key deals that the Hong Kong team has worked on.
The Biostime International Holdings deal – in which we acted as Cayman and BVI counsel to Biostime, a leading Chinese producer of infant nutritional products on an US$850m refinancing, has been included in the "High Yield" category.
The Profit Reach international facility has also been included in the "Structured finance and securitisation" category.
Ogier acted as BVI counsel to Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank in relation to a US$550 million loan to Profit Reach International and the related security package.
Anthony Oakes led the team on both transactions.
In last year's IFLR Asia Awards, Ogier won the Debt & Equity-linked Deal of the Year for advising Garuda Indonesia on its US$500 million sukuk – Anthony also led the team across our Hong Kong and Cayman offices that worked on the deal.
We also took the High Yield Deal of the Year Award at IFLR's European Awards last year, for our work on the ICBPI transaction, led by Bruce MacNeil.
