James joined Ogier's Cayman office in 1991 and became a partner in 1998. He was the Managing Partner of the Cayman office from 2002 to 2010 and head of Ogier’s global investment funds team from 2006 until the end of 2010. He relocated to Hong Kong in 2011 to head up the Hong Kong office as Managing Partner.He received his Bachelor of Law, with Honours, from the University of London in 1990.
James is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society (council member since 1998), the Caymanian Bar Association (council member from 2002 to 2011 and President from 2008 to 2011), the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple of England and Wales and is a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands. James was a council member of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange from 2006 to 2010.
James is recognised by industry commentators as a leading specialist in his areas of expertise for the Cayman Islands. James also features in the 2012 Edition of the "Who's Who Legal" for private funds lawyers.
