James Bergstrom is the Managing Partner of the Cayman practice and head of Ogier’s Global Investment Funds Team. He joined Ogier in 1991 and became a partner in 1998.
He received his LL.B., with Honours, from the University of London in 1990.
James is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society (council member since 1998) the Caymanian Bar Association (council member since 2002), the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple of England and Wales and is a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands. James is also a council member of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange.
James is recognised by industry commentators as a leading specialist in his areas of expertise for the Cayman Islands and was most recently ranked as a leading individual in The 2007 Chambers Global Guide. He also featured in the 2007 Legal Business guide for top offshore lawyers in the "Ten of the Best: Corporate, Finance and Funds" section
