Background:

Michael is a founder partner of the BVI legal practice. His practice covers dispute resolution, insolvency, corporate law and trusts. Michael routinely works with law firms, banks and fiduciary service providers throughout the world with respect to large multi-jurisdictional transactions and disputes.

In July 2011 Michael was appointed, and from time to time sits, as a Deputy High Court Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Ogier, Michael Fay practiced between 1989 and 1996 at 5 Fountain Court and 11 New Square. He relocated to the British Virgin Islands in 1996, and was a founder partner at WSmiths prior to its merger with Ogier in 2007.

Michael is a member of STEP and is a former Vice-President of the British Virgin Islands Bar Association. He is a member of the BVI Government Company Law Review Committee, the BVI Government Joint Anti-money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Advisory Committee and various other Government advisory bodies.

Michael attended Nottingham Law School where he graduated with an LLB in 1988. He then went on to the Inns of Court School of Law and was called to the Bar in 1989.
