Nick joined the Hong Kong office in January 2006 from Slaughter and May, London. Nick has extensive experience in large cross border and multi-jurisdictional transactions as well as private acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures which was his primary focus at Slaughter and May. Nick continues to maintain a strong corporate finance practice in respect of both BVI and Cayman laws.
Nick established Ogier's Hong Kong office in February 2007 with Duncan Smith. He now has a strong focus on investment funds based in Asia, particularly with regard to private equity, fund-of-funds and hedge funds. Nick is regularly published by a wide variety of investment fund publications on topical issues facing Asian based investment managers and was recognised as one of the World's Leading Investment Funds Lawyers in Euro Money's Expert Guide 2010.
Nick received his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Asian Economic History, First Class) from University of Auckland.
Nick is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales, the British Virgin Islands and New Zealand and is also a Registered Foreign Lawyer regulated by the Hong Kong Law Society. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and AIMA.
