Richard Thomas is a Partner and a Jersey Advocate. He specialises in investment funds, securitisation, special purpose vehicles and advises on corporate matters. Richard acted in some of the first European securitisations as the technique developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s and has been actively involved in the creation of Jersey’s regime for protected and incorporated cell companies.
Prior to joining Ogier Richard practised with Slaughter & May in London.
Richard is chairman of the Jersey Funds Association which operates in association with industry regulators and legislators both locally and globally. He is also a member of the Financial and Commercial sub-committee of the Jersey Law Society through which he is involved in review of and amendments to the Island’s commercial laws.
