Prior to joining Ogier Richard practised with Slaughter & May in London.

Richard is the former chairman of the Jersey Funds Association which operates in association with industry regulators and legislators both locally and globally.  He is also a former member of the Financial and Commercial Law sub-committee of the Jersey Law Society through which he was involved in the review of and amendments to the Island’s commercial laws. Richard features in the 2010 Edition of the "Who's Who Legal" for private funds lawyers.
