Richard Thomas is a Partner and a Jersey Advocate. He specialises in investment funds, securitisation, special purpose vehicles and advises on corporate matters. Richard has been actively involved in the creation of Jersey’s regime for protected and incorporated cell companies and the development of Eligible Investment Funds and Exchange Traded Funds.
Prior to joining Ogier Richard practised with Slaughter & May in London.
Richard is chairman of the Jersey Funds Association which operates in association with industry regulators and legislators both locally and globally. He is also a member of the Financial and Commercial Law sub-committee of the Jersey Law Society through which he is involved in review of and amendments to the Island’s commercial laws. Richard also features in the 2010 Edition of the "Who's Who Legal" for private funds lawyers.
