Leon has a broad experience of both commercial and financial disputes and contentious regulatory matters. Leon is involved in a range of trusts and commercial disputes, and advises international clients on issues relating to economic sanctions, particularly relating to sanctions concerning Russia, Iran and Libya.
Leon previously worked as an Associate in the Eversheds LLP financial disputes and fraud teams and completed his training in London at Magic Circle law firm Linklaters LLP. Leon has also gained in-house experience during a fixed term role as Litigation Counsel at City investments, pensions and consulting business, Mercer, where he worked on a broad range of investment, pensions trusts and professional administration matters.
Leon graduated with an LLB Law degree from the University of Birmingham in 2005 and completed his Legal Practice Course in 2007 at the College of Law, London Moorgate.
Prior to commencing at Ogier, Leon completed an LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation (ICGFR) at the University of Warwick, undertaking substantial research in the fields of financial and regulatory law. In addition to attaining a Distinction in his LLM, Leon was also awarded with the Prize for Best Graduating Student in ICGFR.
Leon is a member of the Advisory Board for, and has authored articles published in, Financial Regulation International, a journal which publishes articles on key issues within international financial law and regulation.
