Prior to joining Ogier in 2017, Lhiam worked in the banking and finance team at Dentons in Sydney, Australia and prior to that for a top 10 Australian law firm.
Lhiam worked regularly with most of Australia's leading banks as well as a major Chinese bank and a major property developer advising on a wide variety of secured bilateral and syndicated lending transactions.
Lhiam has experience advising on real estate and construction finance and corporate debt facilities across a number of industry sectors.
Notable transactions include:
• Advising a large property developer on over A$400 million of refinanced senior and mezzanine debt associated with two major residential developments.
• Advising a major bank on a A$140 million syndicated real estate finance transaction for a land subdivision.
• Acting as local Australian counsel for a syndicate of lender’s in connection with a private equity buyout of a well-known London men’s fashion brand.
• Advising on a pre-IPO restructure of debt in connection with company that was listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.
