François is the Practice Partner of Ogier's Luxembourg office which he and Daniel Richards founded in 2012 and is the Global Head of Ogier's Private Equity team.
François graduated from the University of Strasbourg (France) and obtained several degrees in law, economy, finance and political science.
He began his career in 1986 with KPMG as tax adviser and Svenska Handelsbanken as legal counsel. After having acted as head of legal and tax for the RTL group, he joined Fidelity Investments as senior legal counsel for continental Europe and was thereafter a senior partner at OPF Partners for 12 years.
François has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1991 and is also a member of The Monterey Funds Club, an alliance of specialist investment fund lawyers across Europe. He is a member of several working groups within ALFI (Luxembourg Fund Association) and a board member of the Luxembourg Private Equity Association (LPEA).
François is a regular speaker at conferences globally. He is currently teaching a module at the IFBL (Institut de Formation Bancaire, Luxembourg) on the “international structuring of real estate investment funds” and "AIFMD".
He is nominated as one of the world's leading practitioners in the Who'sWho Private Funds 2015 for Luxembourg and is recommended in the Legal 500 EMEA 2014 for the investment funds practice. He was ranked in Chambers Europe 2014 (band 3) for the investment funds practice in Luxembourg. François was recently nominated by ACQ as Investment Funds and Private Equity lawyer of the year for Luxembourg. He is also a director of several regulated investment funds.
A Luxembourg national, he speaks many languages including; English, French, German and Luxembourgish.
