Ogier's work recognised in second restructuring deal award in five months

Ogier's work on the successful restructuring of Mongolian Mining Corporation has been recognised after the deal was named Restructuring Deal of the Year at the IFLR Asian Awards. The team was led by partners Anthony Oakes and Oliver Payne in Hong Kong, and partner Bruce MacNeil in Jersey.

Investec v Glenalla: implications for the Trusts (Jersey) Law

A recent appeal against a decision of the Guernsey Court of Appeal raised points of general public importance regarding the interpretation of articles 26 and 32 of the Trusts (Jersey) Law 1984 (TJL).

The court's decision will be welcomed by many legal practitioners, not only because of the certainty regarding the protections afforded by articles 32 and 26(2) TJL, but also in respect of the Privy Council's strong comments regarding the right of appeal to the Privy Council.
