Ogier in Jersey advises on Invesco Physical Bitcoin launch

Ogier's Banking and Finance team in Jersey has advised Invesco on the launch of the Invesco Physical Bitcoin exchange traded notes (ETN) programme.

The transaction marks the asset manager's first issuance of a physically backed ETN linked to cryptocurrency.

The Ogier team, partner James Lydeard and associate Ben Fraser, advised on a broad range of aspects with a primary focus on liaising with the Jersey Financial Services Commission to navigate the regulatory overlay of a Jersey issuer, Invesco Digital Markets plc.

"The transaction is significant for Invesco and it is also significant for Jersey as a jurisdiction, with only a handful of such or similar programmes having been launched to date," said James.
