Ogier's real estate team act for lender in financing of Jersey's IFC6

Deal

13 December 2021

Jersey

Ogier's cross-sector real estate team has acted for HSBC as the lender to Jersey Development Company in relation to financing the development of the third building at Jersey's International Finance Centre, known as IFC6. Ogier has been lead counsel to HSBC throughout the entire IFC development project and acted in relation to all of the IFC financings.

Real estate finance specialists Katrina Edge, Kate McCaffrey and Nic Le Breuilly advised on, among other things, the IFC6 multi-million development loan.

Katharine Marshall, commercial property partner, led on the property security aspects of the transaction assisted by Laura Shirreffs.

Finance firm Aztec has confirmed it will lease 75% of the 68,000sq-ft office building, the construction of which is due to start immediately and with proposed completion targeted by November 2023.

Katharine Marshall said: "We are pleased to have played a part in this significant new development in St Helier. Advising in relation to the loan facility and property security on this landmark building has been an exciting project."
