Sustainable funds experts assist launch of US$50 million hospitality fund

Ogier's Hong Kong team recently advised Alta Capital Real Estate on the launch of its real estate fund, which is a hospitality fund with a focus on sustainability and wellness.

Alta Capital Real Estate is managed by Rakesh Patel, an experienced real estate investor and former HSBC head of equities for Asia-Pacific. The fund is expected to be launched with US$50 million as it plans to invest in ”undervalued sustainable and wellness hospitality assets” in key locations around Asia-Pacific including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Korea and Japan.

The Ogier team was led by Kate Hodson, partner in Ogier's Investment Funds practice in Hong Kong and Head of ESG (Legal) for Ogier, and included funds specialist Alan Wong.
