Step back in time for a weekend of prehistory demonstrations at La Hougue Bie and take in the sights, sounds, and smells of life thousands of years ago.

Visiting experimental archaeologist Dr James Dilley and Emma Jones of AncientCraft will give visitors a glimpse into the lives of "prehistoric people" as they hold the first full living history display at the award-winning Neolithic Longhouse. Visitors will be able to touch replica objects, ask James and Emma questions, and watch flint knapping and Neolithic jewellery making demonstrations.

James and Emma will also carry out a number of tasks that would have been a familiar part of daily life thousands of years ago, such as fire lighting, axe making, wood working, and bone and antler carving. Visitors of all ages will be able to try their hand at some of these crafts.

Normal entry fees apply, with free entry for Jersey Heritage members and children under six years old.

There will be limited parking onsite over the weekend and visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle, get dropped off, or take the bus.

"Prehistory Weekend – Loving Your History" forms part of Jersey Heritage's prehistory programme of events, kindly sponsored by Ogier.
