Katharine Marshall and Helen Ruelle will cover the provisions of the Discrimination (Jersey) Law 2013 which came into force in July 2021. The regulations concern the prohibition on refusals to let or sell premises on the basis that a tenant, or prospective occupier, has responsibility for a child (or children) under the age of 18 and that child would be living with them together with the exceptions which apply under the law. They will then look at the practical implications of the new law such as who is affected, excluded properties and how the law works with legal documentation already in place.
