Ogier has scooped the top prize for best workplace culture at the recent Leaders in Wellbeing Awards.

Run by Wellbeing World, the Leaders in Wellbeing Awards were set up to recognise the work individuals and organisations are doing to support wellbeing in the Channel Islands.

The Best Workplace Culture award celebrates those employers who embed health and wellbeing within the organisation’s management processes and procedures in a way that contributes to long-lasting culture change.

Ogier takes a sustained and multi-faceted approach to employee wellbeing, with the aim of spurring deep-rooted and lasting culture change. Recent actions to support this have included:

  • the launch of an internal microsite dedicated to wellbeing resources
  • a yearly calendar of events, talks and communications around key wellbeing themes
  • a global Employee Assistance Programme which provides mental and physical health resources including 24/7 phone access to counselling support
  • COVID-specific support including access to the Soulgenic App to help people stay active during lockdown
  • The firm's "Shout out to the extraordinary" recognition scheme which provides ongoing, in-the-moment financial/equivalent recognition for people who have made an exceptional contribution to the life of the firm

Director of HR Sue Lincoln said: "At Ogier we are determined to have a culture of wellbeing, rather than one-off events or activities, and to have a programme that everyone is able to experience and recognise as being an important part of the firm's DNA. Alongside centrally managed initiatives, wellbeing has been at the heart of our internal communications over the past few months. It's been vitally important for everyone to understand what their colleagues have been experiencing in different locations, to be able to stay connected with each other and for everyone to know that the firm is aware of the many individual challenges the pandemic has created and is committed to working with all our people to help manage their work, family and personal priorities.

"Although external recognition is not what our wellbeing culture is about, nevertheless I am delighted that, as a result, we have won a Wellbeing Award for best workplace culture. Our ambition is to create and sustain a culture where, through both good times and challenging times, our people can thrive – indeed #beextraordinary."
