Sustainable Investing and Impact Funds specialist at Ogier, partner Kate Hodson will discuss at Business Environment Council's EnviroSeries Conference 'Business sustainability in the midst of disruption, turbulence and recovery' on 8 July.

Kate says: "It's hard to miss the extent to which ESG issues have become a priority in certain parts of the world, both in private regulation and increasingly, public regulation. This will be a timely exploration of the major role of the boardroom and how decisions may be influenced by the demands and expectations of investors. Whether we can leverage the lessons learned from reduced emissions during COVID-19 and the drop in the oil prices is going to be dependent on a myriad of factors. It comes down to science, political will, societal pressures, technological innovation, economics and last but not least, law and regulation. In this context, we will discuss how changing regulation and investor and societal pressure is impacting what directors need to think about when it comes to the environment and their potential role in a low carbon transition."
