Ogier has advised international environmental, water and waste management group Suez on its US$3.4 billion acquisition of GE’s industrial water business.
Ogier partner Ray Wearmouth led the Ogier team, which included senior associates Rebecca Clark, Marie-Claire Fudge and partner Michael Killourhy, and advised Suez on the BVI law aspects of the acquisition.
Ogier advised on the matter from both its BVI and Jersey office locations, offering a seamless service despite the disruption caused by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria in the BVI.
Ray said: "We are pleased to have been able to support Suez on this significant multi-billion dollar acquisition, which includes assets here in the BVI.
"We were able to continue to deliver 24-hour support from different offices despite the disruption in the islands.
Marie-Claire added that: "Ogier has significant BVI law expertise and capacity in our Jersey, Guernsey and Hong Kong offices – that has enabled us to deliver advice to BVI clients on a true 24-hour basis, and also to continue to service our clients throughout the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria."
