Ogier partner Kate Hodson has been named Best Offshore Lawyer in the Euromoney Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2017.

Kate, a private equity specialist who became Ogier's youngest partner in 2015 at the age of 34, won the award at the event at the JW Marriott Hong Kong last night.

The awards celebrate the advancement of women in the legal profession throughout the region, and recognises individuals as well as the best firm-wide initiatives for gender diversity, innovation, work-life balance, pro-bono work and talent management.

Kate said: "Events that raise the profile of women in our industry and which raise money to support opportunities for women here in Hong Kong are a great step, and I am honoured to have been recognised by the Asia Women in Business Law awards."

Kate is an investment funds lawyer who advises on BVI and Cayman law, and who also has been named one of Asia's Top 40 Lawyers Under 40.

The Women in Business Law Awards are held in support of the Women's Foundation, raising money to improve the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong.
