Ogier is proud to be sponsoring the community zone in Jersey's Pride village this year as part of the firm's continued support for the only dedicated event advocating for the rights of LGBTQ+ people across the Channel Islands.

The Jersey Pride village community zone, which this year is located in People's Park, will provide a space for over 20 local charities and organisations providing services to the local community to meet with attendees on the day, and will also provide a relaxing space to take time out during the event.

Jersey Pride is taking place this year on Saturday 10 September, with attendees gathering from 1.00pm at the Royal Square, the parade proceeding at 2.00pm and Pride village opening at People's Park from 3.00pm with opening speeches followed by an afternoon and evening of entertainment. The full schedule can be found here. Attendance of the event is free and open to all.

Global managing partner and sponsor of Ogier's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative, Edward Mackereth, said: "We're very proud to be supporting Channel Islands Pride, and it's fantastic to see Pride back in Jersey for the first time since before the pandemic. Alongside making sure the event can stay free of charge for all attendees, sponsorship of Pride by local businesses is also an important symbol of support for LGBTQ+ people - but we know it needs to be backed up with tangible action on our side to ensure inclusion and opportunity for all our LGBTQ+ team members. With LGBTQ+ inclusion a core pillar of our diversity, equity and inclusion strategy at Ogier, we remain committed to our work to make sure this is a reality across every aspect of life at our firm.

"We're alive to the rise in bigotry and discrimination that LGBTQ+ people are currently facing across the globe - against this backdrop, Pride has never been so important. Personally I would like to wish all of my colleagues who are LGBTQ+ a very happy Pride and look forward to marching with you this September."
