Ogier in the Cayman Islands continues to enjoy outstanding praise in the newly published Chambers Global 2022 guide, with 16 lawyers singled out for individual recognition across its highly ranked Dispute Resolution, Investment Funds, and Corporate and Finance teams.

The Dispute Resolution team is described by clients as "very knowledgeable", with "an ability to negotiate large matters." Client feedback describes Rachael Reynolds QC, who is Ogier's global senior partner and was appointed Queen's Counsel in August 2021, as "a first-class thinker with the capacity to understand nuanced case needs." Marc Kish is praised for his "steadying hand" and "measured communications" while Jennifer Fox is applauded for her handling of high-value insolvency and commercial fraud disputes and "sound advice." Ranked Up and Coming are William Jones, who draws praise for his "robust and decisive" and "no-nonsense" approach, and Gemma Lardner, who is "exceptionally attentive, clear in her communication of complex legal matters, and practical in her strategic advice." Also ranked Up and Coming is Christopher Levers, who clients describe as "exceptionally good".

The guide describes the Investment Funds team as quick, efficient and "very focused on the client." James Bergstrom has "a deep understanding of Cayman law and is generous in detailing the legal nuances of our decisions," while Nick Rogers is especially known for his focus on hedge fund issues. Giorgio Subiotto "is very senior, always available and quick to respond." Joanne Huckle is increasingly noted for her handling of all aspects of hedge and private equity funds, including fund launches, and is "absolutely fabulous to work with," while clients praise Justin Savage for always ensuring "work is completed and delivered on time." Bradley Kruger is a seasoned lawyer, who handles a broad range of investment fund mandates alongside his responsibilities in the Cayman Corporate team.

According to clients, the Corporate and Finance teams can always be counted on "to take the lead whenever there are multiple parties and/or law firms involved, and they are very aware of the differences we can encounter when negotiating cross-border transactions." Angus Davison is "practical, user-friendly and very direct," while Bradley Kruger, who leads Ogier's Cayman Islands Corporate team, is adept at advising on M&A, structured finance and joint ventures, with additional strength in investment fund mandates. Ogier's fund finance lead, James Heinicke, is very decisive "regardless of the complexity of the deal". Noted for his technical understanding of Cayman company law, Mark Santangeli is "able to give very sensitive advice in context, and in a risk-savvy manner."

James Bergstrom, who heads Ogier's Cayman office, said: "It's always fantastic to hear client feedback that recognises the exceptional legal talent we have within the team. This positive feedback is well-deserved and we look forward to seeing the office continue to go from strength to strength."
