Ogier's Katharine Marshall and Amy Garrod awarded prizes for Advocacy exams

Ogier in Jersey have announced that Katharine Marshall and Amy Garrod have each been awarded two prizes for achieving the highest marks in the Jersey Advocacy exams in 2014 by The Law Society of Jersey and the Institute of Law. 

Katharine Marshall, who works in the Jersey Property law team, was awarded the Law of Contract prize jointly with Simon Thomas (Baker and Partners) and was also awarded the Company Law prize.  Katharine, who joined Ogier in 2011, specialises in acting for clients in the residential and commercial development sector and has acted for a number of listed and unlisted developers and house builders on multi-million pound acquisitions and sales. 

Amy Garrod won the Law of Security Interests and Bankruptcy prize as well as the Testate and Intestate Succession prize.   Amy first worked for Ogier in 2006 as a bursary student and commenced her training as an English solicitor in December 2009 in the Business and Trust Law Group in Jersey. Amy qualified as an English solicitor in December 2011 as part of the Ogier training scheme.

The prizegiving took place at the Société Jersiaise on Thursday 15 January 2015 and was co-hosted by the Law Society of Jersey and the Institute of Law.  The prizes were presented by the Deputy Bailiff, William Bailhache, in his capacity as President of the Board of Examiners.
