Oliver Payne named leading offshore litigator by Asian Legal Business

Ogier's head of Dispute Resolution in Asia, Oliver Payne, has been named a leading disputes practitioner by Asian Legal Business in their inaugural Asia's Top Offshore Litigators 2021 list.

Inclusion on the list was determined by the significance of cases undertaken, client recommendations and feedback from the market. The list referenced a range of matters on which Oliver is advising, including acting as the Cayman counsel for Tianrui (International) Holding Company in just and equitable winding up proceedings brought in respect of China Shanshui Cement Group. He is also acting as Cayman counsel for FamilyMart China Holding, a minority shareholder of a joint venture company which operates over two thousand convenience stores in the PRC.

A Cayman and BVI law specialist, Oliver has overseen substantial growth in Ogier's Hong Kong Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Corporate Recovery teams in response to increased client demand in Asia. Advising across the spectrum of commercial litigation on both BVI and Cayman laws, Ogier's Hong Kong team provides Asia-based clients with advice in their own time-zone, while also working very closely with Ogier's award winning teams on the ground in the BVI and the Cayman Islands to provide a round-the-clock service. The team also provides contentious private client services as part of Ogier's growing Trusts Advisory Group in Hong Kong.
